The Fun for All Playground participated in the 2019 Brazos Valley Gives. Brazos Valley Gives brought the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for our local nonprofits during the 18-hour online giving challenge on October 22, 2019. 

Accessible Playground Opens in College Station

Texas A&M landscape architecture students developed the early designs of the Fun For All Playground.

An inclusive playground for children of all abilities that began with early design work by Texas A&M University landscape architecture students opened Friday in College Station. Located in Stephen C. Beachy Central Park off Krenek Tap Road, the first phase of the Fun For All Playground includes a splash pad, swings, play equipment and other features. Early concepts for the project – supported through more than $1 million in fundraising by the College Station Rotary Club, Noon Lions and Kiwanis Club, with construction overseen by the city – came from the work of 18 landscape architecture students in 2013.

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- The anticipated Fun For All Playground at Central Park in College Station will open its gates Friday. The project has been in the works for the past four years. The goal is to let people of all abilities play together. Lisa Aldrich is the Fun For All Playground Publicity Director. She says the project is important to her because her son has special needs. She says he didn’t grow up with a park like this but always loved feeling included.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A highly-anticipated addition to the Brazos Valley, The “Fun for All Playground,” is set to open on Friday, August 2, 2019. The new more inclusive play area is coming to Stephen C. Beachy Central Park after years of work. College Station, the local Rotary Club and with several businesses in the area helped with funding and planning for the new four and a half acre playground that is a true passion project for Lisa Aldrich, the playground’s Publicity Chair.

Phase 1 of construction for the Fun for All Playground kicked off Monday afternoon at Central Park in College Station. Included in phase 1 of the playground’s construction is 5 shaded play areas with rubber surfacing, splash pad, sidewalks, parking lots and fencing. During the festivities, Patricia Gerling, President of the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, made a special announcement for the future of the rest of the planned phases of construction.
